Without even leaving Ferreries

Ferreries is the highest town in Menorca, located in a valley surrounded by five mountains. From the hotel you can go on a pleasant excursion on foot to s’Ermita chapel where you can look across the whole town; or visit one of Menorca’s most ancient prehistoric settlements located on the Son Mercer estate. Without having to take your car, you can also climb up to the top of s’Enclusa which, at 275 metres high, is the second highest mountain which stands out when looking at the panorama of the whole island.

The most recommended hiking route, which can be done from the hotel itself, is along the Camí Reial path, one of the oldest routes of the island which leads to the impressive ravine, the Barranc d’Algendar, a real gem for nature lovers.

Northbound

Going along the Ets Alocs path, you will find various points of interest where you can make a stop. The Ethnological Museum, the Binissuès Natural Science Museum and the remains of a Moorish castle which are at the top of the Santa Àgueda mountain, where you will be able to make out a large part of the northern coast of the island. From Macar de Ets Alocs you can go by foot to El Pilar, an unspoiled cove where the colour of the sand contrasts with that of the clay which dominates the geological features surrounding the beach; or set off on an excursion along the horse trail, Camí de Cavalls, which circles the entire island.

Towards the south

The road from Ferreries heading south will take you to Cala Galdana, the most visited and spectacular developed beach in Menorca. The beach has all sorts of tourist services and various options available to enjoy the sea and some nautical activities. After walking on further for another 15 minutes, the landscape changes completely and it opens up to Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta, two unspoiled paradisiacal coves with crystalline waters surrounded by pine trees which are sure to inspire you.
